Team Brae-er Blog Hop: Zoe & Nevermore

Welcome to our Team Brae-er Blog Hop that focuses on using new Close to My Heart products.

To purchase any of the items seen in my blog hop today, you can contact Nicky Scott to place an order.

We hope that you will take the time to leave comments on our posts, as we really love feedback from our blog viewers…whether it was something that you really liked or some new technique that was used that you would like to learn how to do, by leaving us comments, we get to hear what you like, and what you want to see. Thank you… now on to our hop!

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow our team’s blogs in order, then please start at the beginning and join Brae at  The Brae-er.  If you came from Michelle of mycreationswithmichelle then you are in the right place!

I chose to create 2 cards using the both the Zoe and the Nevermore papers.

On this first card I used a piece of Nevermore as a background (the top & bottom grey paper), and Zoe is the middle paper.  I stamped the coffee mug and sentiment from the Treats of Friendship C1616 stamp set.  I used the watercolor paints to color in the coffee mug image.  I finished the card off using Silver Foil tape and the Fundamental Assortment Peacock.

TIP:  When using watercolor paints on an image, stamp the image using a pigment ink instead of the dye based ink.  Pigment ink is permanent and takes slightly longer to dry but won’t smudge or run when you apply water.

IMG_6597For the second card I used Nevermore paper, a zipstrip from the top of the paper,Silver Foil tape (even though it looks gold :-)) and the Fundamental Assortment Peacock.  The Sentiment is stamped on watercolor paper that has a wash of watercolor on it.
